Whole wheat groats can be used in many different ways: for growing wheat grass, making porridge, bread or for sprouting. Porridge made from wheat groats provides body with iron necessary for normal blood circulation and healthy complexion, fluoride, which is important in maintaining healthy teeth, magnesium that is an essential element for athletes and workaholics and manganese for normal metabolism.
Wheat groats are recommended for liver and gall bladder diseases. Wheat is also said to strengthen immune system. These wheat grains are highly nutritious and high in easily digestible starch. Sprouted wheat is a great source of zinc, manganese, copper and inorganic phosphorus. Wheat grains are specially important and useful in spring when after winter the body is weak and needs recovering. Eating sprouted wheat is recommended for people who suffer from stomach ulcer, eczema, and for those with high cholesterol levels.

Preparation: Before cooking the wheat groats, it is best to soak them for 1-3 hours (ratio 1:2). Boil the groats for about 10 minutes, add spices of your choice and put the lid back on the pot and leave for another hour.
Storage: Keep the grains in a cool (below 22 °C), clean and dry (moisture below 65%) place.
